I filmed the elements of this piece in January 2020, before it was understood that coronavirus had reached the US and the toilet paper shortages that followed. At the time, the piece seemed funny; a little loop about corporate banality. Now, writing this in early May under what could turn out to be endless stay-at-home orders, after so much sickness and death worldwide, when the fragility and disfunction of the systems that sustain us are so clear, it feels both sad and sinister.
